Ansteys Cove Beach

Ansteys Cove is a small cove with a pebble beach to the north of Torquay. There is a small promenade above the beach with café. Nearby Redgate Beach is not accessible due to cliff falls.

There is a large car park on the cliffs with access to the beach via a road which leads down to the beach, taking about 5 minutes to walk. This road is too steep for wheelchairs.

Torquay is 24 miles from Exeter. From Exeter take the A38 and shortly after Exeter take the A380 (signposted to Torquay) and continue on the A380 past Newton Abbott to the outskirts of Torquay. On the A380 at the Edginswell junction turn left where signposted to Torquay onto the A3022. Follow the A3022 to the sea front at Torre Abbey Sands. Then turn left to follow the A379 into Torquay town centre. Follow the A379 through Torquay town centre and after about a mile look out for a right turning signposted to Ansteys Cove. Turn right onto this road which is called "Ansteys Cove Road" and follow this road to the car park. Ansteys Cove Road is one way and to return to the A379, follow Ansteys Cove Road onto Ilsham Road.
